DESCRIPTION:Homelessness Week (4–10 August) is a national campaign that shines a spotlight on the growing issue of homelessness in our communities. \nThis year\, Dural Club Club are proud to support Parramatta Mission through a Food Drive that helps provide food\, toiletries\, and essential care to people in need. \nHow Members & Staff Can Help \n1. Donate Non-Perishable Food Items & Toiletries in person \nWhen you shop this week\, consider adding an extra item to your basket to support the cause. Simply drop your donations into the collection bins located at reception. \nSuggestions include: \n\nFood Items: Long life milk\, baked beans\, tinned tuna\, instant noodles\, energy bars\, biscuits\, pasta\, pasta sauce\, rice\, small tins of coffee\, teabags\, sugar\, cereals\, fruit cups or other non-perishable items.\nToiletry Items: Soap\, tissues (travel pack size)\, toothbrush\, toothpaste\, small shampoo\, small conditioner\, body wash and deodorants.\nSocks And Jocks: New socks and underwear – all sizes and ages.\n\n\n2. Donate Funds \n\nIn person: Donate at the counter of any of our three venues during trading hours.\nOnline: Click here to donate.\n\n\nWhy It Matters \nHomelessness continues to rise in Western Sydney. The 2025 Parramatta Street Count identified 48 people sleeping rough\, up 85% from 2024. Overall\, 222 people in Parramatta were experiencing homelessness this year. Across Greater Western Sydney\, 37\,779 people experienced persistent homelessness in 2023–24—a 25% increase since 2019–20. \nKey factors include financial hardship\, housing unaffordability\, domestic violence and health challenges. Parramatta Mission’s Meals Plus program has seen demand increase by 30%\, now serving up to 300 people every day and offering housing\, mental health\, and legal support services. \nYour generosity can help provide food security and dignity for those doing it tough in our community. Whether it’s a can of baked beans\, a packet of pasta\, or a donation online\, every contribution counts. \nLet’s come together to help support Parramatta Mission and make a real difference this Homelessness Week. \nDONATE NOW
